What is EXIF metadata and why should I remove it?

It can include your exact GPS coordinates, home address, device model and serial number, timestamps, and even software used. When you share photos online — on social media, in emails, or on websites — this data travels with the image and can be read by anyone. Removing it before sharing is an important privacy step.
